About the Staff

Holly Calig R.N., BSN, PHN

Holly Calig became a Registered Nurse in 1979, graduating from the Los Angeles County School of Nursing, in affiliation with Los Angeles County USC Medical Center. Her emphasis has been in Pediatric and Maternal-Child Health nursing. Over the past 25 years, she has developed prenatal, parenting, grand-parenting, CPR, and other community health education programs for hospitals and local business. She returned to school in 2004, earning her Bachelor’s Degree and Public Health Certificate in Nursing.

Child & Parent Resources opened in 1991, after observing the need for high-quality health education programs in the community. The staff of Child & Parent Resources, some of whom have been on-board since its conception, share the same philosophy of developing programs to meet individual needs of the community and are committed to achieving these goals.

Her list of accomplishments includes developing and facilitating a support group for families of asthmatic children, developing a baby-care series for new families, being a Regional Faculty representative for the Los Angeles Emergency Cardiac Care Committee to aid in the development and institution of Pediatric Basic Life Support in Los Angeles County.

Holly continues to work as a school nurse, and is PEARS and PALS certified, as well is a PALS instructor. Holly remains abreast of current trends in parenting and health care.

She currently resides with her husband of 30 years in the San Fernando Valley, and has 3 grown children, and one very handsome, toddler grandson. Her 87-year old Mom has joined her residence this year to supervise all business and household activities.
